September 10-11, 2011

We awoke bright and early on Saturday morning with the pleasure of watching the sunrise. We departed the dock around 8am with the wind steady and perfect all day. We were cruising around 6.3 knots a good portion of the day. We headed out to the Gulf with Pirate Blake on the lookout. Pogo relaxed. [...]

Great Weekend of Daysailing

August 27 & 28th were prefect sailing days. We set sail Saturday morning for a cruise around the bay. Wind was hovering around 15 knots; other sailors were taking full advantage. Pelicans flying by. August 19-21, 2011

Well, it was the last weekend of summer vacation 2011 and the weather was looking great, so we set sail Friday for Little Sabine. There was only one other sailboat on the bay and a barge. Ben can easily work from Little Sabine with the WiFi setup we have on the boat, so it allows [...]

Power Generation

We burn through a lot of amp hours with the electronics we have on the boat. Between the 1000w sonar, chartplotter, WiFi, autopilot, electric head, and lights, the amperage adds up. We carry around 700 amp hours of battery power aboard via 6 batteries, which means that about half is available for consumption. Of course [...]

Ben’s Birthday

August 4 is Ben’s birthday, so we had to celebrate by sailing over to Hooter’s for lunch with friends. Carol was prepared with Mimosa material. There was no wind at first. Wait, I see wind in the distance. The wind picked up and we enjoyed a show from our military running exercises. This was an [...]
