B.E.E.R. Cruise 2011 – Day 1

June 3, 2011…

The Backwater Environmental Escape Rendezvous (B.E.E.R.) has kicked off. This is the 10th annual cruise held in Pensacola, FL typically during the first weekend of June.

Friday night was the skipper’s meet, which gives everyone a chance to mingle with old friends and make new friends. Each year Cajun John prepares a big meal for everyone and this year was no different; a big THANKS to Cajun John who boiled up what must have been 200 pounds of shrimp, plus fixings like potatoes and corn.

Though the sky threatened with its annual skipper meet thunderstorm, it didn’t happen this year; however, we did have quite a lightning show in the East over about where we will anchor both Saturday and Sunday nights.
