The weather was gorgeous this past weekend!
We departed the marina around 9:30am CST and sailed around for a bit before heading to Little Sabine for the night.
Here’s Pirate Blake.
Since our wedding anniversary was during the work-week we didn’t get to really celebrate, so we popped the cork on some champagne around lunch time.
Blake made a pickle dog.
I’m guessing it had a sour taste.
Pensacola Beach in the distance.
There were many other sailboats enjoying the weather. Most boats were headed the direction of Ft. McRee, so we assume it was a crowded anchorage.
Blake checking out the Bob Sykes Bridge traffic.
Once we set the hook in Little Sabine, we dinghy’d over to the shallows for some water play. Pogo enjoyed running through the water.
Pogo tired herself out.
Carol checking out the scenery.
Blake helped prepare some more sailboat eggs.
Coy and Iris of Fantasea cruised in.
Not sure what you call these surfboards with paddles, but I know they’re the new thing to do these days with as many as we see in the calm waters.
Aja and Aaron sailed in and set hook nearby.
Ben ran Aaron and Aja to shore for supplies.
It was a beautiful sunset. The shallows where we played all day had exposed the sand and formed a little island as the tide went out.
We all went over to Fantasea for a visit before heading over to Keeldover for cocktails.
Here’s Monomoy from the cockpit of Keeldover.

Aja brought out a snack.
Carol snuggled to Aja’s dog Slingshot.
Lights from Pensacola Beach.
Birds waiting on the sun Sunday morning.

Carol’s placed flowers in the cockpit.
Blake built a Lego robot.
After running Pogo to shore, we weighed anchor and set sail. The wind was already blowing at 10 knots and predicted to reach 20 knots by afternoon. It did reach 16 knots with gusts to 21 knots.
There were a few other sailboats out; everyone we passed had reefed sails probably due to the gusty wind.
After a nice sail back to the channel, Ben doused the sails.
Back at the dock, Blake started catching a fleet of minnows.
Ken took a crew out sailing; here he is coming in the channel with the headsail up.
It was another great weekend out of the slip. Saturday was definitely better conditions for sailing than Sunday, but we were sailing, so no complaints here.
