Sailing in February!
Feb. 6, 2011 was a beautiful sailing day.
It started a little cool in the morning, but nothing a jacket couldn’t handle.
The wind settled down to around 3 knots, which allowed the temp to feel much warmer in the sun.
Our high temp reached about 60 degrees, but in 2-3 knots of wind, it is quite comfortable.
Cutie Carol.
Silly Blake.
And Goofy Ben.
Ben spotted dolphin, which were out playing all around us.
Pogo was looking for the dolphins.
Barges doing their thing.
Enjoying the day!
There were surprisingly few other boaters on the water. I suspect most people were getting ready for Super Bowl parties. We sailed all day and still made it back in time for boatmade pizza and the game.
The wind picked up to about 5-6 knots in the afternoon, which was just in time to provide a nice sail back to the marina.
The only bad thing that occurred was our year old Standard Horizon handheld VHF popped off the belt clip due to a faulty clip, bounced off the foredeck and straight over into the bay.
Track from our daysail.
