Another Glorious Weekend!
October 17, 2010…
We set out right at 8am to sail over to Little Sabine at Pensacola Beach. We had some friends heading that way as well, so we were sure to have a great time.
We sailed around for a bit rather than just head straight to the anchorage and really enjoyed the day.
Blake at the helm.
Early on it was chilly from the night before, so Carol was sporting her jacket and Holy Mullet shirt.
Carol decided she wanted to take the helm for a bit and ran wing on wing for a while. She took a picture of Ben to show he wasn’t at the helm.
It started to warm up, so Carol sorta got into bikini mode.
There were other sailors out enjoying the day.
Once we anchored in Little Sabine, we were greeted by the welcome committee.
After a while we noticed life flight looking for a place to land.
We took the dinghy out for a cruise around the sabine.
Upon heading out of the channel, we came across our friends Ken and Sheri heading in to the anchorage.
Fantasea joined us as well.
The next morning was Sunday the 18th of October. We dink’d over to the shallows to play.
Carol tried her hand at tossing the cast net with all of the mullet around us.
It was the first annual Deluna Fest this weekend, so we went over to check it out. Blake found a golf cart for grandmommy and granddaddy.
Such a pretty day, this sailor decided to head to the Gulf.
After the festival we headed over to the Landshark Bar for, of course, a Landshark beer. Then we walked over to the Margaritaville Hotel. They had murals, so Blake had to get a picture.
Blake liked the art too.
He also thought the model sailboat was neat.
Well, unfortunately it was time to say good bye to our friends and head back to Monomoy. We departed the anchorage around 3:30pm and had a nice sail back to the marina arriving around 6pm; just in time to go get a pizza for dinner.
Hoping next time out is just as perfect!
