5 Weekends in a Row!!
Wow! I don’t think we’ve ever made it out sailing five weekends in a row. Granted the last weekend was questionable weather that we normally wouldn’t have headed out in and had we known that wind would blow 30 knots Saturday night, then we probably wouldn’t have stayed overnight, but we did have a great time.
We departed the marina Friday evening and sailed over to Quietwater.
It was a beautiful evening. The wind was about 15 knots, which made for good sailing and a comfortable night.
Other sailors were taking advantage of the evening.
Sure was a pretty evening.
Blake wanted to “hold the sun”.
Jody rafted up with us Friday night, but departed Saturday afternoon to pick up his family and camp at Ft. McRee.
Ben and Blake went to shore for a bit of play.
Blake showing off his cool shirt from his Grandmommy and Granddaddy (notice the shark teeth when his arms are crossed).
Lunch time.
Nap time.
Beer time.
Carol enjoying the cool day.
Blake and Carol decided to play a little guitar; they’re learning together.
The jellyfish were out, but Ben still dove the boat to scrape the prop and add a new zinc.
Blake decided to do shots of Sunkist.
Jim and Denise on s/v Another Chance cruised up for the day/night.
Going to set the hook.
Now relaxing. Can you see Jim in his new hammock?
Look closer.
Yee haw! The weather warmed up enough for a bikini.
Blake decided to have a Sunkist out of the smallest cup he could find; a toy cup.
The parasailors were out.
We met another couple on s/v Remote Access who anchored nearby and who turned out to be marina neighbors from just next door at Yacht Harbor.
There were a few other sailboats out at the dock.
As were the jetskiers.
What a beautiful sunset we had.
Sunday morning we awoke (did we actually get any sleep?) to heavy wind and seas. Pogo was concerned.
We had originally planned to meet Carol’s mom at Flounders for lunch Sunday, but the high wind and rough seas at anchorage wasn’t pleasant all night, so we picked up anchor and headed back home.
The sky looked nice enough.
The seas weren’t.
Video, nor pictures, ever seem to truly capture how rough the water is.
We still had a great time though and look forward to next weekend being number 6 out!
