Pirate’s Cove Weekend
Three weekends in a row we’ve made it out of the slip to enjoy beautiful Pensacola water!
Once again we departed Friday evening when Carol made it to the boat after work and sailed to Ft. McRee.
Welcome aboard.
Upon anchoring, Blake decided to take a rest on the bow.
We were being watched.
Ben, Blake, and Pogo went ashore.
We enjoyed another beautiful diamond sunset.
Being goofy.
Our friend Jim on s/v Another Chance joined us for the weekend.
Good morning Saturday… After eggs, bacon, sausage, and Cafe Beletage, it was time to set sail for Pirate’s Cove!
Pelicans flying over.
Commercial vessel “Sacred Heart” cruised by.
We have arrived!
Blake was ready.
There was supposed to be a regatta occurring, so we motored back into the cove to stay out of the way.
Off to sight see the cove and go in for a cheeseburger and bushwacker.
Pogo and Blake made new friends.
So cute!
Having fun.
Being cool.
Highway (Jim’s doggie).
Neat place.
Back on Monomoy for a couple of cocktails, before returning to shore for live music.
Caught her dancing.
Heading back to shore; here’s Monomoy.
Feeling the crazy affects from being at Pirates Cove.
Motoring to the cove.
We enjoyed some live music and another cocktail, then headed back to the boat for bedtime.
Sunday morning… Time to rise and shine and head back home.
We had to mostly motor all the way to Ft. McRee, where we stopped for lunch. The wind was mainly from the East and that was the direction we were headed.
After stopping for lunch, the wind shifted a little and allowed us to sail back home.
We passed Sacred Heart again, but this time he was aground.
Trying to break the barges apart to get the front one off the sandbar.
We cruised on, enjoyed more sunny weather, and talked about doing it all over again next weekend if the weather cooperates.
What a fantastic weekend!
