4 weekends in a row!

Sept 24-26, 2010 made the 4th weekend in a row that we were able to get out of the slip. There was a really good chance of rain for the weekend, but it didn’t stop us from setting sail.

Friday evening we set sail as soon as Carol got to the boat after work.

The weather was funky and we could see waterspouts attempting to form in the Gulf.

Pirate’s Cove Weekend

Three weekends in a row we’ve made it out of the slip to enjoy beautiful Pensacola water!

Once again we departed Friday evening when Carol made it to the boat after work and sailed to Ft. McRee.

We enjoyed some live music and another cocktail, then headed back to the boat for bedtime.

Sunday morning… Time to rise and shine and head back home.

sunrise

We had to mostly motor all the way to Ft. McRee, where we stopped for lunch. The wind was mainly from the East and that was the direction we were headed.

After stopping for lunch, the wind shifted a little and allowed us to sail back home.

We passed Sacred Heart again, but this time he was aground.

We cruised on, enjoyed more sunny weather, and talked about doing it all over again next weekend if the weather cooperates.

What a fantastic weekend!

New steering chain, cable, and sheaves.

No pictures, but we replaced the steering cable, chain, and sheaves. The cable was showing signs of wear and the sheaves had seen better days.

Also, when replacing the clutch and throttle cables recently, it was discovered that the plastic clip holding the cables in the pedestal was cracked through. We had ordered a new clip and replaced it while the pedestal was apart.

All total it took about 4 hours from start to finish.

McRee Weekend

We had a fantastic weekend that started Friday evening when Carol got off work.

Carol picked up a pizza on her way to the boat and we set sail as soon as she arrived.

We sailed over to Ft. McRee with s/v Great Escape not far behind us.

Pogo was anticipating our arrival to the anchorage.

Labor Day Weekend and Birthday Parties

What a fantastic weekend!

Friday, Sept 3…

It was Blake’s 8th birthday, so that evening started with a little cake and some quiet family time on Monomoy.

Saturday, Ben took our dock neighbor Jim and Carol’s brother David for a sail on Saturday, while Carol and Blake went to setup for the evening double birthday party at Island Cove Marina; it was Carol’s mom’s birthday on Sunday.
