1987 Hunter Legend 37.5

April 16-18

What a fantastic weekend!

We began our weekend by heading over to the marina Friday evening after work. Jody launched his boat after work as well and joined us over at the marina where we all stayed the night.

Saturday morning we were up early to get things together for heading out. After coffee and dock chat with neighbors, we headed out about 8:30am.

Blake was on the radio with Jody.

Cocktail hour begins at any time on a boat. We received a gift this past week from extended family. They sent us some great cups that have the name of our boat, port, and our names on them. Perfect size for that rum and coke.

Carol decided to take Pogo to shore, but didn’t realize how strong the current was moving as tide was coming in.

So Jody had to go rescue her.

He then demonstrated the art of rowing and took them over to the shore.

Later in the morning, Ben, Blake, and Pogo went ashore to explore.

April 9-11 at the dock

We had a great weekend just hanging out at the dock. The weather was gorgeous and we probably should have sailed, but it was our first opportunity to get the new boat provisioned and all of our gear transferred from the Catalina.

We started off Friday afternoon at the usual cocktail hour under the marina gazebo, before retiring to the boat for the night.

Blake read us a bedtime story.

Pogo found her bed spot.

Saturday Blake went to see a movie with his MawMaw, while Carol and Ben spent the day moving stuff from boat to boat.

There was some time to relax though and enjoy the sun.

At some point over the weekend there was a regatta going on with lots of boats in the channel. They had to scramble when a barge came through.

The sailboats were decorated with their flags.

Although we never left the dock, we did spend the entire weekend on the boat and had a great time.

Next weekend we plan to be at a local anchorage providing the weather forecast holds up. Can’t wait!
