Father’s Day 2009 – Destination Relaxation
This morning was beautiful to get out on the water. We headed out sometime this morning, but didn’t pay any attention to the time. Wind started out around 8 knots, dropped to nothing, then picked back up to around 6 knots by the time we headed in. It was comfortable under sail, but really hot sitting at the dock.
We have a macerator pump between our head and holding tank which decided to quit today. I pulled out the old pump, then we scrubbed the deck before heading home.
I was going to rebuild the pump, which is only 14 months old, but a rebuild kit is about $70. I decided to check with wholesalemarine.com and found the pump for $108 with shipping. I originally paid about $150 for the current pump at West Marine. Figures that it made it just past the warranty.
